- Visit the lovely countryside alongside the Danube. Excursion to the town of Győr, lying half way between Budapest and Vienna, the third most historical town in Hungary, known as the city of waters it lies on the banks of the Danube, and at the mouth of the Rába and Rábca rivers. Visit the old city centre, the imposing Baroque Cathedral and the Castle above the old town centre, shop and stop for lunch in the pedestrianised area. Visit the nearby hilltop monastery of Pannonhalma, a one-thousand year old abbey founded by Hungary's first king. Visit its famous library which holds some 350,000 volumes of priceless books accumulated throughout the centuries which date back to the year 1090.
- Go shopping. Győr offers a range of interesting shops. Popular souvenirs are local hand made articles such as colourful embroideries, pottery, hand woven textiles, beautiful porcelain from Herend and Zsolnay, and tasty Hungarian Paprika, Tokai wine, and the wonderful local Merlot wines.
- Go fishing in the nearby rivers or go hunting. Enjoy the beautiful natural environment of Szigetköz island. Even today, fishing is one of the main occupations on the island. Moreover, it is an important tourist attraction in terms of hunting. This sport provides a great variety of wonderful experiences, such as the beauty of nature, or the moment when hunters catch sight of the quarry. In old legends the regions Szigetköz and Csallóköz were called 'The Golden Garden'. According to tradition, fairies used to live there, who loved the people and helped the fishermen, hunters and gold washers, and all the people lived happily together. There is a 120-km-long road from Rajka as far as the mouth of the Mosoni Danube, which provides a great opportunity to enjoy nature and to get acquainted with the fauna and flora of the Szigetköz.
- Go horse-riding. Those who prefer horseback riding or driving in a carriage will find excellent horse-riding schools and stables in Győrzámoly, Dunakiliti and Dunaszeg.
- Go cycling. There is an excellent cycle track leading from the Slovakian border along the Danube on the Hungarian Side. One can also hire bicycles in Győr.
- Excursion to the largest lake in Central and Western Europe, the almost 600 square kilometre Lake Balaton, Hungary's most favoured tourist destination outside Budapest, blessed with abundant medicinal waters. Its shores are protected to the north by volcanic hills.
- Excursion to nearby Bratislava in the Slovak Republic. Bratislava is known as Pressburg in German, and its old town has many historic buildings and Patrician Palaces. Arrange a private sightseeing tour of the fabulous Baroque centre of this beautiful town.
- Daytrip to nearby Vienna in Austria. Arrange a private sightseeing tour of the beautiful capital, the name conjures up a vision of waltzes and operettas, of revolutionaries and artists imagining new worlds in cosy coffee houses, of lovers hurrying away from a Schubert piano recital to sip new wine in a Heuriger wine garden. Visit the City Centre, Vienna's landmark, St. Stephan's Cathedral, Stephanplatz, the Graben and the Hofburg, the former imperial palace, the Ring from the University to the Danube Canal.
- Visit Lake Fertő in the Austrian part, known as the Nationalpark Neusiedler See-Seewinkel at Podersdorf, which has been declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Have a relaxing day at the beach, go boating, sunbathe or have a swim. Have coffee an and ice-cream in one of the beautiful coffee-houses overlooking the lake.
- Overnight trip to Budapest to explore the historic capital, where the buildings from the past harmoniously blend in with the modern architecture of today, and form a pleasant cityscape for tourists and inhabitants alike. The banks of the Danube and the Castle district with the Matthias Church, the Neo-Romanesque Fishermen's Bastion in Budapest have both been granted World Heritage status. Dine on Hungarian specialities and enjoy the wonderful wines of this area. Arrange for a private sightseeing tour, visit some of the historic spas for which Budapest is often named 'city of baths'. Visit the Hungarian Parliament and the Heroes' Square, the Opera House, the Little Underground, the National Museum and the Vajdahunyad Castle on the Pest Side, and view the bridges over the Danube. Have lunch in one of the coffee houses in the pedestrian mall to fuel you for a shopping spree afterwards.
- Excursion to Győr Thermal Baths, swim, relax and pamper yourself in the 67 C medicinal waters which spouting from 2000 meters in to four swimming pools, with water regulated at different temperatures (29, 32, 38 degrees Celsius). Here you can recline in the water allowing jacuzzi-like jets of water to massage and relax you back muscles. Or try the adventure bath with its five swimming pools and two slides (64 and 38 metres long). Services available in the swimming pools are designed to promote wellness, recreation and relaxation. They include the "twister tube", recumbent massage, geysers, spouts, massaging blast pipes at different heights, waterfall, rafting channel, a cave with waterfall and a bubble bath jacuzzi.
- Day tour to the beautiful Baroque city of Sopron located near the Austrian border, the second most historical city in Hungary. Take a walking tour of the old town and pause for lunch in one of the charming coffee houses that line the splendid market square of Sopron. On your return to Mosonmagyaróvár visit Fertőd, one of Hungary's most beautiful Rococo castles. It was the castle of the Counts of Esterházy, often referred to as the Hungarian Versailles.
- Drive into the countryside to the small town of Hédervár with its 13th century Hédervár Castle where you can take a walk in the castle park, laid out in the romantic 19th century English style with grand old trees, ponds and flowering meadows. Not far from the park is a small baroque church famous for its gnarled 700-year old oak tree. Afterwards visit nearby Lébny where you can visit one of Hungary's oldest Romanesque Cathedrals.
